This Privacy Policy describes how DidactIA (“DidactIA”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, shares and protects your personal information when you use the DidactIA website (didactia-app.com), our mobile and desktop applications, and the related services (together, the “Services”). By using the Services, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information you provide
- Account information: first name, last name, email address, password, your role, the school class levels you teach and, if applicable, a referral code.
- Sign-in with Google: if you sign in with your Google account, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google via Firebase Authentication. We never receive your Google password.
- Content you create: educational documents, chat conversations with our AI assistants, quizzes and quiz attempts, blog comments, and content you submit to the DidactIA marketplace.
- Payment information: when you purchase credits, payments are processed by our payment provider CinetPay. We collect the information needed to process the transaction (such as your phone number, country and payment method) but we never store your full payment credentials.
1.2 Information collected automatically
- Usage data: pages visited, features used and interactions with the Services, collected through Google Analytics.
- Device and session data: device type (web, Android, iOS, desktop), device name and a device identifier, used to manage your active sessions and keep your account secure.
- Cookies and similar technologies: used to keep you signed in, remember your preferences (such as language) and measure audience.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide, operate and maintain the Services;
- Create and manage your account, and authenticate you;
- Generate AI-assisted educational content you request (your prompts and documents are sent to our AI processing infrastructure for this sole purpose);
- Process credit purchases and payouts, and prevent fraud;
- Send transactional emails (account verification, password reset, receipts);
- Measure and improve the performance and reliability of the Services;
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your content for advertising.
3. How We Share Your Information
We share personal information only with the service providers listed below, and only to the extent necessary to operate the Services:
- Google Firebase Authentication — sign-in with Google;
- Google Analytics — anonymous usage statistics;
- CinetPay — payment processing for credit purchases;
- AI service providers — processing of the prompts and documents you submit in order to generate the content you request;
- Hosting and infrastructure providers — secure storage and delivery of the Services.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and property of DidactIA, our users or the public.
4. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data: all traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS), passwords are stored hashed and never in plain text, and access to personal data is restricted to authorized personnel. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration or destruction.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services. Payment records may be retained longer where required by law.
You can request the deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by following the instructions on our account deletion page or by contacting us at contact@didactia-app.com. Upon verification of your request, your account and personal data will be deleted, except for information we are legally required to keep.
6. Children’s Privacy
DidactIA is designed for teachers and education professionals and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise most of these rights directly from your profile page, or by contacting us at contact@didactia-app.com.
8. International Transfers
Our service providers may process your data in countries other than your own. In such cases we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your information in accordance with this policy.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Effective date” above indicates when it was last revised. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the Services or by email before the changes take effect.
